"A new regional state nature park, 'Merke,' has been established in the Zhambyl region!"

Kazakhstan has taken another step toward preserving its nature and cultural heritage: a new regional state nature park covering more than 86,000 hectares has opened in the Zhambyl region. The new park encompasses the unique ecosystems of the Western Tien Shan mountains and their foothills. It is home to rare and endemic species of plants and animals. According to data from scientists at @qazaqormany, 8 snow leopards, 120 argali, 20 Indian crestless porcupines, and 22 Turkestan lynxes have been recorded within the park's territory. All of them are listed in the Red Data Book of Kazakhstan. The establishment of the park is the result of years of joint efforts by government agencies, local communities, scientific institutions, and international organizations, including the #UN @unitednations Development Programme @undp (#UNDP) @undp.kazakhstan. "Merke" is set to become not only a nature conservation area but also a new center for scientific research, environmental education, and ecotourism. In this way, Kazakhstan demonstrates its commitment to global climate and sustainable development goals, taking concrete steps to preserve natural wealth and pass it on to future generations. By preserving nature, we protect our future!
